Narrow views limit the color of our palette to black, white & gray
HAIKU POEM ROSALIENE BACCHUS

If I could only have my way
I would re-do this troubled earth
Poverty would cease to be
For Labor would be paid its worth
Brotherly and sisterly love would thrive
No drones allowed to dominate the hive
Honest work alone would pay
If I could only have my way
Human beings would cease to doubt
Narrow views would be broadened out
Everyone would then see the light of day
If I am allowed to have my way
Rain and sorrow I would prevent
Replacing them with joy and merriment
Deep love for all would be the sway
If I could only have my way
Mean desires and jealous hate
Only darkens the soul until it’s too late
Peace on Earth would come to stay
Oh! If I could only have my way

Life in general is my motivation for writing this book of
poetry. There comes a time in the life of every human being
when we arise from slumber and take a look at ourselves...
As we look at each changing face in life, let us be truly
grateful for all that we have been blessed with... We are all
connected in the circle, and are all on life's journey. May we
each be blessed on our individual journey.
~ Excerpt from the Foreword by YVONNE SAM in her poetry collection,
Life's Many Faces: Fun-on-the-Run, 2013.
Poetry brings delight and tears / when grief and sorrow may
fill your day / words will help transport the pain away
~ Excerpt from "The Power of Poetry" by YVONNE SAM from her poetry
collection Life's Many Faces: Fun-on-the-Run, 2013
