People Along the Way: Greater Los Angeles Writers Society

Since its formation in May 2009, our critique group now includes writers of
other genres: memoir, historical fiction and fantasy. We meet twice monthly,
on the second and fourth Sunday, at the Santa Monica Public Library. The
Santa Monica pier, shown in the left bar, is six blocks away from the library.

Shelley Youngren, our group leader, is an author and humorist. She has
two books published:

  • Revising manuscript of sci-fi novel, Two Thousand Eleven: Earth Colony
    Roswell.
  • Working on historical fantasy novel, Circadian Rhythm.

Cecelia D. Pitts, an elementary school teacher for the past thirty years, has
been writing since third grade and has won accolades for her poetry. She is
a self-published fan author in fantasy and sci-fi fan publications.

people who have joined me on my journey.
